Heres the full colour version of The Pirate Song from George Harrison from Rutland Weekend Televison BBC 1975. Also starring Neil Innes and Eric Idle. Contains the end of the previous sketch too!
Nationwide special on Kate Bush only tour. Includes what must be one of the first filmed interviews and Kate in leotard doing her dance moves...first part!
This is Elvis Costellos first ever TV appearance - only a small part of this appears on his official DVD 'THe Right spectacle'. The original master tape was wiped.
Great line-up for this - Elvis Costello at the Montreux Jazz Festival(??) with Glenn Tilbrook, Chris Difford, Nick Lowe and Gilson Lavis singing Manfred Mann's Pretty Flamingo sometimes 1980s I think!
Only footage I know of with Kate performing this song live at the piano. Recorded in Sweden I think. taken from my ropey old VHS that I've had for 25 years.
I'd forgotten this song - performance shown on Top of the Pops but I guess the clip is actually taken from another show. Ah no I was wrong apparantly it IS TOTP - just black with no audience.
Thanks for the info.
I just realised theere does not appear to be the complete performance on YOUTUBE of Them Heavy People from 'Revolver' So for your viewing pleasure here it is...
Introduced by Peter Cook, Elvis appears doing This Years Girl and Radio Radio. This also appears on Elvis's official DVD THE RIGHT SPECTACLE but on that the TV monitors have been blurred - in the un-blurred version here, look out for Margaret Thatcher, Kate Bush, Elaine Paige amongst others!
