In the Fall of 2003 a Black Hawk helicopter from the New Hampshire Air National Guard landed in the parking lot at Loon Mountain. The chopper arrived to assist in a search and rescue operation.
In October of 2004 the new HSDQ was installed on North Peak at Loon Mountain. This is a video of the top section being mounted on the base via helicopter.
A slide show of the progress of South Peak at Loon Mountain. Pictures show the bases of the towers ready for concrete to be poured, and the new trail that will be open this December. Narration will be added later.
On 9-15-2007, three stacks from the old mill were brought down by a demolition crew. I had a bad angle (sorry about the fence) but you see the final resting place of #2, and #3 didn't want to go anyhere for a bit.
From the parking lot at Loon Mountain, a helicopter picks up another piece of the new ski lift. But, I put myself in a bad position as I and the camera got hammered by the rotor wash!
