Midsummer Rain on banjo
Posted by: ThatTharJonsey
Video duration: 183 seconds
I wrote this tune for mandolin, but here is a version on my banjo. I've only played banjo for a little over a month, which means I'm a beginner on this instrument. Being a non-perfectionist, I wanted to try it anyway, so please forgive the sloppy playing.
The banjo is an Enoch Tradesman.

Midsummer Rain
Posted by: ThatTharJonsey
Video duration: 122 seconds
A tune I just wrote, about 5 minutes ago! I haven't really worked out the dynamics of the tune yet, but this is the basic melody.
I managed to put a backing guitar on the track for speakervoice. This is recorded with the internal mic in a macbook, so the sound quality ain't the best.
I'm playing a mandolin I built myself 2 years ago, and a Stanford OM guitar.

Monroebilia
Posted by: ThatTharJonsey
Video duration: 73 seconds
Rough version of an early tune by the great mandolinist Mike Compton, can be heard on the cd 'My Native Home' by the Nashville Bluegrass Band. In the liner notes it says this was Mike's idea of a fiddle tune that Bill Monroe might have written late at night riding on his bus somewhere.
